PROMO'TION, noun
1. The act of promoting; advancement; encouragement; as the promotion of virtue or morals; the promotion of peace or of discord.
2. Exaltation in rank or honor; preferment.
My promotion will be thy destruction.
Promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west, nor from the south. Psalms 75:6.
